Many of you would have been aware of a shortage of NHS dentists in our area. Even though it’s a nationwide problem, South Lakes has been hit particularly hard with the kids suffering the most due to no dentists taking on NHS patients in our area. We have decided to act.
Children Oral Health In South Lakes
Many of our adult patients have been unable to get their kids registered. We at Barrow Dental Aesthetics are very concerned with the oral health of children in Barrow and all our clinicians have come together to launch an initiative to help as many kids as possible. They have agreed to extend opening hours during weekdays and open weekends to accommodate school children. We will be treating all kids under 18 free of charge under NHS.
You do not need to call the practice to book your appointment. You will be able to do it yourself online and pick a time which suits you. Please book the appointment under your child’s name and not your own.
Please create the booking under the child’s name rather than yourself. If you face any issues, you can call in to practice or call us on 01229821994.
We will extend this offer to any parents who has been at our practice for a dental check up in the last 6 years. If you are not our existing patient you can simply book either a private exam or one of our affordable plan exams for just £30 and your children will be registered for free at the same time. You can use the same above link to make appointments for your other family members but please remember to make the appointment under each patient’s name and not the person filling the form.
The appointments will be made available online and will be on first come first serve basis. Please only book the appointment if you are certain of attending so others do not miss out.

- Orthodontic treatments only for cosmetic purposes, such as minor tooth misalignment without functional issues, are not covered.
- Dental procedures that go beyond essential dental care, such as non-essential dental enhancements or modifications, fall outside the scope of NHS Kids.
